Parents.  Congratulations, you've made it to another year.  You are either new here (your student has just entered our ministry) or this is old business.  We are so glad that you allow your student to be involved in what we do as a student ministry.  There will be many opportunities this school year for your student and you to serve, grow, and experience.  A daily prayer is that God grants you wisdom as you lead your family.  Lead well.   If there is anyway I can assist you, please don't hesitate to contact.  -peter

This is the txt of a parent email that went out on 10-16-18 (Subject: Fall Retreat and Fields of Faith)

Parents of First Southern Students.  TWO THINGS FOR YOU GUYS!   

1) The Fall Retreat is here!  Wanted to get you guys info on how your student and their friends can sign up.  We’ve had a good bit of numbers sign up and I know we will have several LAST MINUTE sign ups as well.  I’m trying to prevent that by contacting you and getting you the link to the page…not waiting for your student to have to remember to ask.  

As with any event we do, everyone wants the T-shirt.  So for this to happen, our printer needs to order shirts by Thursday at 3:00 PM.  Your student can sign up later, but there will be no guarantee.  Shirts are $15, I know some students can’t go, but they want a shirt (shirt is included with $40 registration).  You can make that known as well on the website.  We will be ordering a few extra, but "when they gone, they gone.”

2)  Our student ministry will be participating in the FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) Fields of Faith, WEDNESDAY night at Bryant High Football Stadium.  The event is free.  The event goes from 7-9 PM.  It is a highly evangelistic event targeted at reaching students with the gospel.  Chicken Express will be handing out FREE box meals at 6:30, so get there early (Seth and I and others will be there by 6:15).  Students can be dropped at the ticket booth and all the seating will be on the home side.  Security will be on hand as well.  Last year we did a good job of our students sitting together.    Please don't forget to pick yours up at the football field :)
  The event is scheduled to end at 9, but students can be picked up whenever.  The weather is forecasted for no rain and 59 degrees.
